Pet Application Form (QLD)

Keeping a pet in a strata community requires consideration of by-laws and the comfort of all residents. This application form allows owners or residents to formally request approval to keep a pet on the property. Please provide accurate and complete details about your pet to assist the Body Corporation in reviewing your request efficiently and fairly in accordance with relevant legislation and building regulations.

Indemnity and Acknowledgement

(a) the Owner or Occupier must ensure that when passing through Common Property, the animal is suitably restrained or carried;
(b) the Owner or Occupier must ensure that, if an animal is taken into a lift (if applicable);
(i) the lift is empty; or
(ii) if the lift is not empty – the occupants consent to the animal traveling in the lift is obtained;
(c) the animal must be registered with the council, if the animal is a type that allows Council registration;
(d) the animal is kept within the Lot and not allowed to roam the Common Property;
(e) the Owner or Occupier must immediately pick up and dispose of any animal waste left on the Common Property;
(f) the animal must carry an identification tag with the Owner or Occupier's details;
(g)I if approval for a pet is granted, this is for the life of the pet;
(h) the Occupier of the Lot at which the animal is being kept shall indemnify and keep indemnified the Body Corporate and / or the Owner or Occupier of any other Lot against any injury, damage, loss or expense, legal or otherwise, incurred or suffered, as a result of the animal being on Common Property or any other Lot;
(i) each pet must not cause a nuisance to any other owner or occupier or interfere with any other owner or occupier’s quiet enjoyment of another lot or the common Property.
