If you live in a body corporate located within the Brisbane City Council, you might be surprised to learn that apartments, units and some townhouses (multi-unit dwellings) will not automatically receive a green waste recycling bin.
However, there’s good news! You can opt in for this valuable green waste recycling service, and the Council will assess your request on a case-by-case basis.
For owner-occupied units, the owner can request a green waste recycling bin. Once the request is made, the Council will contact the owner to confirm the bin’s placement and who will be responsible for presenting it for collection.
The council will require body corporate approval, and you should reach out to your strata manager to seek approval before you, as the unit owner, can contact the Council.
